Affiliations

Champion on Living with HIV initiative – Educating, helping and supporting people living with HIV in Tanzania through the project. This initiative is one of the main supported initiatives of Standard Chartered Bank which allows employees to work closely with the community.

Sports events organizer – Sports Day is an event which takes place yearly in Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania whereby employees and their families meet and enjoy and participate in different sports activities together. I frequently took part in the committee in organizing this event yearly.

Accomplishments

1. During an upgrade of a core bank transaction system, mandatory client data required by the regulator wasn't captured. The bank had the data for some clients but needed to contact all clients to collect and update missing information. Once completed, a compliance report need submission to the regulator.

Objective: To ensure compliance by collecting and updating all missing client data in the system and submitting a comprehensive report to the Compliance Head within the regulator's deadline.

Action:

  • creating a dedicated team to handle the assignment
  • Obtained a report of clients missing mandatory data
  • set clear timelines for contacting clients, receiving and updating their data and generating the final report
  • scheduled regular regroup meetings to monitor progress

Results:

Successfully completed the assignment with 100% compliance. the team worked extra hours to meet the regulator's tight deadline. The project was a team achievement and the Bank celebrated the achievement in addressing the regulator's concerns with int requested timelines with accuracy.

2. A restructuring of the u it was needed, and i was appointed as the Project Lead to oversee its successful completion.

Objective:

To design and implement a new new unit restructure that align with the bank's goals, ensuring efficient operations, clear reporting lines, appropriate systems and equipped personnel.

Actions:

  • Formed a local working group by identifying and engaging key stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Design a workable structure for the unit tailored to the bank's needs.
  • Established clear reporting lines to enhance accountability.
  • Define responsibilities and remuneration for the roles to be filled.
  • Selected appropriate systems, applications and determined access rights for the team members.
  • Arranged work areas and assessed the feasibility of remote working for specific roles.
  • Identified and procured the necessary equipments for team efficiency
