  • In this role, I have accomplished the following responsibilities
  • Supporting the project in designing and implementing VMMC M&E related activities
  • Effective supporting timely, accurate, and appropriate reporting of VMMC program activities and results to the program management team and using it in preparation of required periodic reports
  • Built the capacity of CHMTS and service providers on implementation of VMMC services and ensure accurately and timely data collection, verification, and reporting in 9 project supported councils of Mara region
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly site visits to 9 project supported councils of Mara region, which aim to provide technical support on data quality assurance (DQA), data management, and data utilization
  • Worked closely with MoH/NACP in the revision & development of New Guidelines, SOPs, Training materials and M&E tools for the provision of VMMC & EIMC services
  • Worked closely with MOH/NACP and other stakeholders in the development of VMMC module within the Unified Community system (UCS)
  • Support the MoH/NACP on various capacity building workshops to R/CHMTs on data analysis and use
  • Supporting R/CHMTs in operationalization of the National Sustainability Roadmap through routine monitoring of service uptake to 34 static sites in Mara region.

  • Lead effective implementation of project M&E activities according to work plans and performance management plans
  • In the period of five years successive FY2017 - FY2021, I manage to ensure 90% “green” scores on SIMS VMMC core essential elements (CEE) assessed and on routine data quality assessment (RDQA)
  • Also maintain a completeness at 95%, data discrepancies at 0% and timeliness 100% for all VMMC monthly reports
  • Successfully ensure VMMC data are completed accurately, consistently, and timely in DHIS- 2 and DATIM database
  • Lead the project staff in preparations and submission of quarterly and annual reports both narrative and quantitative reports for PEPFAR/CDC and other stakeholders
  • Lead in the documentation of program achievements in Technical Briefs that show approaches, successes and lessons learned
  • Engaged in development of DHIS2 Touch Application for daily reporting of performance data from VMMC sites and IntraHMIS-a web-based data management system for internal project use
  • Lead installation, operationalization, and capacity building of service providers on utilization of National VMMC database in four static sites in Mara region
  • Engaged in the ShangRing Evaluation Study to evaluate Acceptability and Safety of the ShangRing Device for Male Circumcision in Shinyanga, Tanzania
  • This was a six months (April to September 2019) study conducted jointly between MOHCDGEC/NACP and the PORALG in collaboration with IntraHealth International, Inc
  • The study was funded by the PEPFAR/CDC
  • Emphasizing a culture of data utilization within an organization through establishments of weekly performance review meetings
  • Introduce a culture of data utilization among R/CHMTs and HCWs at the facility level through introduction of performance dashboards at the site levels
  • Lead coordination of the Project data analysis and performance review meetings at Regional and district levels in supported regions
  • Coordinate data management trainings to VMMC service providers, performs onsite mentorship on data quality issues and conducted quarterly M&E focused supportive supervision

  • In this role, I have accomplished the following:
  • Assisting Technical Director in planning, organization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the overall Community HIV Testing and Counseling services (CBHTC) and Providers Initiated testing and counselling (PITC) in Mara region
  • Successfully coordinated activities for a a multi- country research study conducted in Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa with the key objectives of examining and compare three different models of HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) in outpatients ddepartments (OPD) to determine which model results in increased HIV testing, yield high percentage of clients who test HIV positive, and the most cost-effective provision of HTC in the OPD
  • This project was implemented jointly by IntraHealth international, Jhpiego and the Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Arusha and Tanga regions
  • It was funded by the USAID, CDC Atlanta and PEPFAR
  • Increased uptake of Community HTC services in Mara region from 63% in 2013 to 94% in 2016
  • Strengthening uptake of PITC services in Inpatient clients in all health facilities with IPD services in six district council in Mara region
  • Facilitated linkage of clients tested HIV positive to care and treatment services for 82% in the year 2015/2016
  • Co-author in documentation of Community HTC services technical brief which published on November 2017, namely “The right community-based HIV testing approach for the right population at the right time: comparing index-case testing and campaigns in hotspot areas in Tanzania”
  • Successfully built skills of HCWs on provision of quality HIV testing and counselling services through frequent supportive supervisions and mentorships at site levels and provision of internal quality assurance (IQA) and external quality assessment (EQA) to HIV testing providers
  • Provide technical programmatic support to HIV Testing and Counseling services, while ensuring compliance with the government, donor and project requirements and standards
  • Supervising and managing performance of more than 60 sites from six councils which implement CBHTC and PITC services in Mara region in collaboration with Regional and District health management teams
  • Supporting district teams in developing action plans for improving quality provision of CBHTC and PITC services
  • Prepare annual work plans, budgets, district performance reports in consultation with finance and monitoring and evaluation team
  • Maintain up-to date statistics and projects data for the projects performance reporting and documentation of best practices and lessons learnt during project implementation.
