Company Overview: YILAA, or Youth Initiative for Land in Africa, is a platform that aims to promote land governance for young people in Africa empower the next generation of professionals, and promote sustainable land use. YILAA's initiatives include training and capacity-building programs, networking and exchange programs, the Championing of Green careers, and Land tenure for young people. Our training programs are implemented in collaboration with Prince Sultan University.


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for YILAA's Indigenous People Land Rights program.
  • Develop and implement the strategies for resource mobilization to support Indigenous People Land rights program
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on all aspects of land rights, including customary land tenure systems, legal frameworks, land administration, and conflict resolution.
  • Design and deliver training programs for Indigenous communities and YILAA staff on land rights, advocacy, and community-based natural resource management.
  • Represent YILAA in policy dialogues and advocacy initiatives related to Indigenous land rights. This involves engaging with government officials, international organizations, and other stakeholders to promote policy reforms that protect and secure Indigenous land rights.
  • Oversee the implementation of projects within the Indigenous People Land Rights program, ensuring projects are implemented effectively, efficiently, and following YILAA's standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including Indigenous communities, government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.

African Youth Pastoralist Initiative

Company Overview: The African Pastoralist Youth Initiative (AYPI) is a youth-led organization dedicated to promoting the rights and welfare of pastoralist communities across Africa. We advocate for sustainable development, policy reform, and youth empowerment to ensure pastoralist communities' equitable and inclusive participation in decision-making processes. AYPI was founded in 2022 as the resolution of the Youth Conference on Climate and Pastoralism, held at Lukenya University, Kenya by young pastoralist leaders from Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia.The initiative has gained its entry into More African Countries such as Uganda, Nigeria, South Sudan, mali and Central Africa Republic.

Roles and responsibility:

  • Collaborate closely with the President and Board of Directors to develop and implement AYPI's strategic plan, overseeing all organizational programs and initiatives' design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This includes conducting research, identifying opportunities, and developing detailed project proposals.
  • Provide overall leadership and management for AYPI's programs, ensuring effective coordination across all departments and projects. This involves setting targets, monitoring progress, managing budgets, and reporting on program outcomes to the Board.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the organization's management team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and other materials for Board meetings. \
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the President and Board.
  • Developed strong partnerships with other Organizations to allow for collaboration and more significant opportunities for growth.
  • Actively participate in fundraising efforts, including identifying potential funding sources, developing grant proposals, and managing relationships with donors and partners.
