Project Overview: The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to break through barriers to the 95-95-95 goal, and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming. The project focuses on preventing HIV/AIDS in key vulnerable populations. The project also strives to capacitate local partners to meet the PEPFAR goal of 70% of funding to local partners.

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Providing technical support in the implementation and expansion of integrated HIV services to both key and vulnerable populations in designated health facilities near hotspots, through mobile outreach services, index testing, partner notification, HIVST, and PrEP.
  • Overseeing a work plan for day-to-day program implementation at the regional level, including supervision of field activities, mentoring, and supervising HCWs regularly during outreach sessions.
  • Mentorship and coaching health workers on clinical management and integration of HIV, PrEP, family planning, TB screening, and STIs.
  • Collaborating with the monitoring and evaluation team to collect data, analyze, and identify the gap to guide the technical assistance to the team.
  • Provide technical assistance and participate in supportive supervision of HCWs to ensure quality health care delivery, as per national guidelines and protocols.
  • Overseeing all clinical care-related services for KVPs, including addressing the health needs of KVPs, and PLHIVs and collaborating with MOHSW, care and treatments IPs, home-based care IPs, and communities to support retention within HIV prevention and treatment continuum
  • Train community peer educators on curriculum-based training in HIV, PrEP, family planning, community and adherence counseling, patient advocacy (including GVB), case management, partner notification, and tracking, HIV drug regimes, HIV/TB drug resistance, and effective referral of clients for drug resistance tests.
  • Organizing training and workshops to impart knowledge and skills to HCWs, program staff, and R/CHMTs.
  • Budget forecasting with close follow-up on resource utilization and budget burn rate to reach desirable goals and outcomes.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting monthly, quarterly, and semiannual reports.
  • Writing success stories, abstracts, and best practices relating to curative and preventive services based on project implementations.
