  • Provide SBC strategic expertise and technical direction to the consortium staff, MOH and relevant partners in the overall planning, design, delivery, implementation, and monitoring of the Afya Thabiti project SBC interventions and activities in all project geographies.
  • Prepare and oversee project budget to ensure smooth implementation and value for money.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of an integrated SBC strategy for Afya Thabiti technical areas in line with the project goals, government priorities, donor requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop Afya Thabiti SBC annual work plan and strategies and integrate SBC activities within the work plan of all thematic areas.
  • Participate and represent the project in the meetings, design workshops with stakeholders, community members, and implementing partners using cutting edge, inclusive, and person-centered SBC approaches to support the development, testing, refinement and roll-out of high quality, evidence-based SBC materials and products.
  • Lead preparation and reviews of all periodic and activity reports to ensure proper reporting on SBC activities in line with the project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) plan.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations (Amref, Ciheb and Afya Plus) as they support technical oversight to the project regions.
  • Manage and lead teams’ performance management and conduct collaborative individual performance appraisal.

Projects Implemented

1. Afya Thabiti Project: HIV testing, care and treatment project employing 95-95-95 cascade funded by PEPFAR and implemented by Amref Health Africa in partnership with TCDC, Ciheb and Afya from 2022 to 2028.

2. USAID Shinda (Defeat Malaria; Five years malaria elimination project in Katavi, Kagera and Tabora regions to address issues related to Malaria Case Management and Malaria in Pregnant from 2022 to 2027 funded by PMI through USAID.

3. Afya Kamilifu Project: - HIV testing, care and treatment project employing 95-95-95 cascade funded by PEPFAR and implemented by Amref Health Africa in partnership with TCDC and University of Maryland Baltimore from 2018 to 2023.

4. Adolescents 360 (A360) Project:- RH project implemented by PSI from 2016 to 2019 targeting adolescent girls by employing Human Centered Design and Adaptive Implementation strategies financed by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Children Investment Fund Foundation.

5. Mwanamke Tunu Project: - 5 years reproductive health project funded by DFID from 2013 to 2019 being implemented in 10 region by PSI to provide family planning, health education and services, GBV and youth friendly services.

6. KfW and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Projects: - These were a reproductive health projects focusing on family planning, Comprehensive Post Abortion Care (CPAC), and Cervical Cancer Screening and Preventive Treatment (CCSPT) with the aim to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and increase the Contraception Prevalence Rate (CPR) and CYP. The project was implemented by PSI from 2012 to 2017 aiming to improve CYP and DALY.

7. HIV Prevention Project: - Condoms Social Marketing HIV prevention project through condoms distribution in a social marketing modal and BCC activities implemented by PSI in Tanzania from 2012 to 2017 financed by Global Fund and USAID under Tanzania Social Marketing Project (TSNP).

8. Husika Project: - KP project implemented by PSI and Engender Health with the aim of improving access to counseling, health education, BCC, HIV/STIs testing and linkage from 2011 to 2015 funded by USAID.

9. Unitaid mRDT Project: - Project to address a challenge on fever case management and treatment in private sector from 2013 to 2016 implemented by PSI with the aim to enable the sector adopt mRDT for Malaria diagnosis.

10. Women's Health Project (WHP): - RH project providing services through identified private health facilities supported with equipment, expendables, capacity building and services demand creation through community health workers implemented by PSI from 2008 to 2018 in Tanzania.

11. Kabla Hujalala Project: - Mass distribution of free mosquito net (LLIN) funded by Global Fund through NMCP and implemented by PSI from 2014 to 2015. Project deliverables included BCC, delivery and distribution of LLIN.

12. School and Health Facility LLIN Project (Vector Works): - Free LLIN distribution to pupils at school and through pregnant women and or a ninth month’s child through Health Facilities in regions with high malarial prevalence funded by PMI and implemented by JHU in partnership with PSI and TCDC from 2015 to 2018.
