  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigating any product failures or "non-conformities" to determine why they happened and how to prevent them.
  • Supplier Quality: Evaluating the raw materials arriving at the factory to ensure they meet specifications before they enter the line.

Quality Control

Tanzania Maji Jibu Company Limited
Dar es salaam
01.2021 - 01.2025
  • Raw Water & Pre-Treatment Monitoring: Before any filtration happens, the QC team must understand the "influent" (source) water.
  • Source Testing: Regularly testing the raw water (borehole or municipal) for heavy metals, nitrates, and microbial load. Filtration Efficiency: Monitoring the performance of sand filters, carbon filters, and water softeners to ensure they are effectively removing sediment and chlorine.
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Management: Tracking the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and conductivity before and after the RO membranes to ensure the system is functioning correctly.
  • In-Process Quality Checks (CCPs): QC professionals focus on Critical Control Points (CCPs) where the risk of contamination is highest.
  • Ozonation & UV Sterilization: Verifying that ozone levels are sufficient for disinfection but not so high they cause bromate formation, and ensuring UV lamps are operating at the correct intensity.
  • Machine Calibration: Ensuring that filling and sealing machines are calibrated to prevent "under-filling" and to maintain a sterile environment during the packaging process.
  • Container Integrity: Testing the quality of pre-forms, bottles, or caps for leaks or deformities that could compromise the seal.
  • Finished Product & Laboratory Analysis: This is the final verification stage before the product is cleared for distribution. Microbiological Analysis: Culturing samples to test for E. coli, Coliforms, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Chemical Analysis: Measuring pH levels (typically target 6.5-8.5), hardness, and mineral content to ensure consistency with the label. Sensory Evaluation: Performing "organoleptic" tests-checking for any off-odors, strange tastes, or turbidity (cloudiness). Batch Coding & Traceability: Ensuring every unit has a legible batch number and expiration date to facilitate a quick recall if a defect is found later.
  • Compliance & Sanitation (HACCP): QC is also responsible for the overall environment of the factory.
  • SOP Enforcement: Ensuring staff follow Standard Operating Procedures, including proper PPE and hand hygiene.
  • HACCP Documentation: Maintaining detailed records for regulatory bodies (such as TBS or TFDA) to prove the plant follows a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plan.
