Salvatory Mathias Shayo
Salvatory Shayo is a growing, motivated and ambitious Health scientist focusing in both Human health and environmental science. After a successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Environmental health science with Information Technology at Ruaha Catholic University, Salvatory joined the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDEC) to undergo a comprehensive internship program as partial fulfillment of his degree. Through This process Salvatory worked with both Muhimbili University of Allied Sciences and Catholic University of Allied Science in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza respectively through the School of hygiene. The knowledge and skills acquired through this process has enable Salvatory to hit the ground running in each opportunity he has worked so far. Immediately after completion of an internship program with MoHCDEC, Salvatory Joined Mwanza Regional Medical Office's office where he works as Health officer with the main roles of facilitating health related reports and community health activities. Due to his background in Information Technology, Mr. Shayo was also supportive to the RMO's office in strengthening information technology system of the region including development of some digital reporting tools. Mr. Shayo also worked with Accelerating Stunting Reduction Program (ASRP) under Catholic relief Services (CRS) and USAID with the main roles of providing guidance on community and facility health linkage especially on wash and sanitation activities and HIV/AIDS in several Projects as Data officer in Geita and Singida region.Mr. Shayo has also participated in a number of training which include, Life skills, livelihood, sexual reproductive health, financial management, HIV and Gender under Student partnership worldwide.

Environmental Health Officer II
3 Years 2 Months- Carry out inspections to the different premises, and these including business areas which may cause nuisance to human health, in terms of air pollution, noise pollution as well as water pollution.
- Attend the meeting concerned different project proposed and to write down report this include the generally reports and submit comments to respective authority.
- To write a report in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in a certain project proposed and discussed by the meeting.
- Supervision and Monitoring.
- Preparation of Environmental Health Report
- Preparation of work and implementing projects in rural and urban areas.

8 Months- Hygiene promotion and community mobilization to promote safe hygiene and health-seeking behaviors, and to empower displaced people to take an active role in WASH operations.

- Active disease surveillance and increased vigilance on water quality and sanitation practices during disease outbreaks.
- Providing and maintaining latrines or toilets segregated by gender, or family units that are safe for women, girls, men and boys to use at all times.
- Solid waste management and site drainage activities, to reduce standing water and garbage where disease-carrying mosquitoes or vermin can breed.
