Core Work Activities

  • Responsible for all financial and accounting functions of the hotel.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly financial reports and variance analysis to Management and owning company on a timely basis.
  • Review of reconciliations of all relevant accounts and Balance Sheet.
  • Preparation of monthly cash flow projection on timely basis for management review.
  • Review and control of contracts/ agreements, licenses and insurance matters.
  • To liaise with both internal and external auditors, and other relevant authorities on accounting and audit matters.
  • Identifying and implementing costs saving methods.
  • To review monthly payroll prepared by Pay Master.
  • Preparing of annual hotel operation and capex budgets and forecasts.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Ensures that the P&L is accurate and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and tax exposures.
  • Ensure all tax payments & returns are filed before due dates.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks successfully and work under pressure.
  • Ensures compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
  • Reviews audit issues and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Supervises directly or indirectly Finance department staffs comprising of Accounts Receivable & Income Audit, Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Accounting and Cost Control sections.
  • Reviews and approves payment documents, checks, telegraphic transfers, and payments and petty cash vouchers.
  • Review and approve purchase requests, purchase orders.
  • Review the daily General Cashier’s Report and approves.
  • Review the monthly payroll accrual requirements for annual vacation leave, vacation ticket, incentive pay and pension fund contribution.
  • Assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized and charged to the correct Accounts/departments.
  • Review the monthly cash balance for submission to Corporate Support and ensures sufficient cash Balance at all times.
  • Supervises the monthly closing processes to ensure timely completion of closing activities in accordance with the monthly closing calendar and timely submission of reports to Corporate Office.
  • Review trial balance and approves reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
  • Review the monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Responsible for the production of monthly Management Accounts, Executive Summary report and other reportorial requirements.
  • Reviews departmental P&L and attends the monthly financial review with department heads.
  • Participates in the monthly teleconference call with Corporate Support to run through the results for the month.
  • Liaises with the department heads and outside parties such as vendors, banks etc. to resolve issues timely and effectively.
  • Liaises with Corporate Support on monthly financial reporting package, budget, forecast and other matters.
  • Assures internal control compliance and monitors internal audit report to ensure internal audit issues are addressed and action plans are carried out.
  • Assists the internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit activities.
  • Reviews the Management Letter from external auditor, provides Management comments and coordinates with relevant sections/ departments for compliance or implementation.
