As a young conservationist with a degree in Applied Zoology from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice from the University of Oxford, I am passionate about contributing to the field of conservation. My goal is to seek and maintain full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

LION LANDSCAPES
01.2021 - 01.2023
  • Leading identification and organization of over 1,000 photos of lions each month
  • In the 2021-2022 season identified over 50 individuals and created identification cards
  • Assist in administering benefits directly linked to the presence of wildlife and education of community members from 12 villages through the monthly provision of fortified porridge in three primary schools and monthly distribution of benefits from Lion Landscapes Community Camera Trap program
  • Leading the team to download data from livestock enclosures around the study area from 16 Conflict Officers in Kobo Toolbox
  • Clean and translate carnivore depredation data Swahili to English
  • Leading Lion defender officers and collecting and entering data for Lion Defenders Program by using SMART from 14 Lion Defenders each month
  • Working with the team to set and collect data from camera traps and implement community incentive programs in villages that surround Ruaha National Park each month
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of Mlowa Secondary School Wildlife Club each Tuesday of the month for 75 students
  • Course content created by using Pan African Conservation Education (PACE) education resources.

  • Helped the team on camera traps (Cuddeback model) check from two zones of the Serengeti ecosystem and achieved setting and change batteries and lenses for more than 20 cameras per day
  • Monitored collared elephants by using VHF radio and telemetry to find where they were, counting, and identifying individual elephants and groups with their given names and achieved getting two individual collared elephants per day.
