Hardworking and safety-conscious Welding and Piping Technician with practical experience in oil and gas maintenance and piping projects. Experienced in carbon steel pipe welding, gas piping installation, pipe fitting and maintenance activities. Currently working with CNS on an assignment at Oryx Energy Tanzania since March 2025. Hands-on experience with SMAW, MIG and TIG welding, pipe preparation, fit-up, installation and welding activities. Able to follow safety procedures, work effectively with supervisors and technicians, and perform tasks in demanding site environments. Welding & Piping Technician
1 Year 6 Months- Perform welding activities on carbon steel piping.
- Participate in gas piping installation and maintenance projects.
- Support piping works for industrial facilities, hotels and schools.
- Perform SMAW welding and gain practical exposure to MIG and TIG welding.
- Assist with pipe preparation, fitting, alignment and installation.
- Support maintenance and installation activities in an oil and gas working environment.
- Follow site safety requirements and use appropriate PPE.
- Work closely with supervisors and other technicians to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Apply practical knowledge of root pass, hot pass, filling pass and cap pass welding.
- Identify common welding defects including lack of penetration, lack of fusion, undercut, overlap, porosity and slag inclusion.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area before, during and after welding activities.
