Work History

Bioinformatics Research Intern (Volunteer)

Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI-Selian)
Arusha, Tanzania
08.2024 - 10.2026
  • Incorporated bioinformatics sequence analysis techniques to determine drought tolerance and pest resistance genes in local Staple crops to breed climate resilient crops faster for smallholder farmers.
  • Improved molecular diagnostics tests (PCR) of early onset soil pathogens (Maize Lethal Necrosis Disease) to prevent widespread crop loss within trial plots.

Bioinformatics and Molecular Research Support (Volunteer)

Arusha Lutheran Medical Center (ALMC)
Arusha, Tanzania
07.2023 - 11.2023
  • Aided structure and enhance Polymerase Chain Reactions (PCR) techniques to point out antimicrobial resistance patterns for regional pathogens generating evidence-based analytics for community health tracking.
  • Built and managed computer-based pipelines for evaluation of genomics sequences employing bioinformatics tools such as BLAST as well as R to map the communicable diseases movement within Arusha region.

Research Assistant (Volunteer)

National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR)
Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
07.2022 - 09.2022
  • Created an automated bioinformatics pipeline to assess the genetic diversity of multidrug-resistant strains of plasmodium falciparum parasites with the goal of delivering actionable data to guide national malaria treatment decisions and drug resistance monitoring.
