Reference for Mahek Desai,
11/08/2025
To whom it may concern,
This letter is to confirm that Mahek Desai was a student on our Law course, from 29/06/2025 until
12/07/2025. The teaching was carried out in small-group seminars and tutorials by Paul Dyer.
In my capacity as Director I did not directly teach Mahek Desai, but I found them to be a conscientious and
personable student.
The course tutor, Paul Dyer, has written the following report on Mahek Desai's performance:
Mahek was a brilliant student in the law course. She was very open to learning all about law from
different jurisdictions and she was keen about Criminal Law in particular. Her contributions in class were
wide-ranging- from the depth of questions she asked to the intelligent responses to questions she offered. In
the second tutorial essay on the topic ‘ADR is more beneficial than judicial settlement’, I considered the
submission by Mahek the best submission for that period. This showed her attentiveness to the discussions in
class, her research skill and her extraordinary drafting/writing skills. Above all, we all benefitted from her
multi-jurisdictional knowledge having lived and schooled in parts of East Africa. I wish her all the best.
I should note that due to the short time frame of the course, we do not ask students to sit a final exam, nor
require tutors to give a final grade.
This letter constitutes an official and signed document from Oxford Summer Courses.
