As a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist, I lead MEL efforts to track conservation outcomes across four Lake Tanganyika riparian countries. I design and implement data collection systems that support evidence-based decision-making and adaptive management. A key part of my role involves engaging and supporting program partners in monitoring activities, capacity building, and strengthening data collection and reporting mechanisms. I analyze and synthesize monitoring data to inform program strategy and improve conservation impact. I facilitate learning processes and knowledge sharing to enhance adaptive management and accountability across the program.
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the Tuungane Program, an integrated initiative focused on improving health, forests, fisheries, and farming, I played a key role in designing and implementing monitoring systems to track program progress and impact. I developed data collection tools, conducted field assessments, and worked closely with program partners to strengthen their data management and reporting capacity. I also analyzed program data to generate insights that informed decision-making and adaptive management. Additionally, I supported learning and knowledge-sharing efforts to enhance the program’s effectiveness in delivering sustainable community and conservation outcomes.
I volunteered to educate young people on sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and the prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. I facilitated community discussions, awareness campaigns, and peer-to-peer learning sessions to provide accurate information and promote healthy behaviours. Additionally, I worked with local organizations to strengthen youth engagement in health and rights advocacy, empowering young people to make informed decisions about their well-being.
