Accomplishments

1. Successfully mapped out, identified, formulated, and coordinated a coalition of 30

Civil Society Organizations from eight regions of Tanzania to meaningfully engage in the World Bank’s – RMNCAH Global Financing Facility (GFF) processes through advocacy and accountability.

2. Coordinated the acceleration of attainment of FP2020 and EWEC commitments through “The Motion Tracker” by tracking and analyzing FP2020 commitments key indicators to determine progress over 2 years. An initiative that led to enhanced accountability by CSOs and Government in attaining FP2020 and EWEC commitments.

3. Led an advocacy team that successfully advocated for TB visibility in Tanzania that

resulted to inclusion of TB in the HIV parliamentary committee terms of reference and the formation of the Multisectoral Accountability Framework for TB; (MAF – TB)

4. Co-led an in-depth analysis of the financial and programmatic positioning of Family

Planning in the GFF “Strengthening Primary Healthcare for Result”.

5. Led a team of advocates to campaign for debt relief for health amidst COVID-19. A campaign that provoked regional and global discussions on debt relief for developing

countries to support investment in health systems strengthening.

6. Successfully led Post-Partum Family Planning (PPFP) advocacy, through which Tabora region has accelerated CPR by scaling up health facilities providing PPFP services from 3 in 2019 to 11 in July 2020.

7. Advocated for eradication of malnutrition in Rukwa as one of the poorest performing regions in Tanzania. As a result, Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) issued a policy directive calling upon Regional Medical Officer and Regional Health Management Team to budget for nutritional activities in their respective Council Comprehensive Health Plans (CCHPs)
