Overall Purpose of the Role Key Responsibilities Reporting Responsibilities

To provide strategic and operational logistics support for DRC operations in the Kasulu Area Office, including Nyarugusu Refugee Camp and other field locations. The role is responsible for overseeing fleet management, warehouse operations, procurement support, asset management, fuel and generator management, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain operations in accordance with DRC policies and donor requirements.

  • Lead and coordinate all logistics functions across Kasulu Area Office, Nyarugusu Refugee Camp, and other DRC field locations, ensuring efficient and compliant logistics operations.
  • Provide overall management and oversight of warehouses in Kasulu, Makere, and all field locations, in close collaboration with Procurement and Programme teams.
  • Ensure timely processing of all warehouse transactions and proper identification, labelling, and segregation of project materials to facilitate accountability and minimise stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and well-organized warehouse facilities by implementing appropriate storage layouts and restricting access to authorized personnel only.
  • Conduct routine warehouse inspections and spot checks to ensure compliance with warehouse management standards and operational procedures.
  • Ensure warehouse staff maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including Goods Received Notes (GRNs), Bin/Stock Cards, Waybills, fuel records, and other inventory management records.
  • Build the capacity of Logistics staff through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training, while providing effective supervision to Logistics Assistants, Storekeepers, Fleet staff, Asset staff, and casual laborers.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly logistics reports covering warehouse operations, fleet management, and asset management by the 5th day of each month for consolidation into Country Office and Regional reports.
  • Oversee fleet management operations, including vehicle allocation, fuel management, maintenance scheduling, and transport coordination, while supporting the Fleet Assistant in reporting and operational planning.
  • Ensure effective management, tracking, and accountability of DRC assets throughout their lifecycle in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Provide logistics support across different DRC operational locations as required to ensure continuity of programme implementation.
  • Monitor weekly warehouse stock utilization and provide recommendations to optimize inventory levels and prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing of vehicles are conducted according to manufacturers’ specifications and DRC fleet management standards.
  • Strengthen compliance during supplier deliveries by ensuring accurate verification, documentation, and receipt of goods.
  • Coordinate the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment, supplies, services, and labor to support programme implementation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize logistics support activities by considering operational priorities, geographical challenges, environmental conditions, and available resources to ensure uninterrupted programme delivery.
