With a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Health Science and three years of experience, I lead as the Head of Genomics at the National Public Health Laboratory. My work spans diverse sequencing platforms, including Ion Torrent, ONT MinION, Illumina MiSeq, iSeq 100, and NextSeq 1000/2000, for projects such as HIVDR, Rotavirus, SARS-CoV-2, and Influenza Surveillance. I honed my skills through a medical laboratory internship at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre and training in the Ion Gene Studio S5 and Illumina systems. Furthermore, I have enriched my expertise through workshops on genome sequencing, bioinformatics, and infectious disease diagnosis. In my role, I prioritize meticulous sample management, data archiving, and ensuring testing accuracy.
