Projects & Grants

Her leadership has been central to projects such as the Development of Tanzania’s National Curriculum of Education (TIE, 2023–2024), the Vocational Education Curriculum Development (VETA, 2023–2025), the Misitu Kisiki Hai Project (2015–2016), and the Aflatoun Program Evaluation (ICS, 2010–2011). These projects demonstrate her ability to bridge policy, practice, and community engagement.

Recognition & Appreciation

Dr. Mwajuma has been acknowledged for her outstanding contributions to education, the arts, and community development. In 2024, the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) formally appreciated her involvement in the development of the national creative arts curriculum, recognizing her leadership in shaping educational frameworks. Her commitment to academic innovation and mentorship was honored by the University of Dodoma in 2021 with the Leadership in Arts Education Recognition, highlighting her role in advancing quality assurance and postgraduate studies. Earlier, in 2016, she was celebrated by Thubutu Africa Initiatives with the Community Impact Recognition, acknowledging her transformative use of Theatre for Development to empower communities and promote social change. These acknowledgments reflect her vision, dedication, and influence as a female leader who bridges academia, policy, and grassroots engagement.

Publications & Research

Her scholarly contributions include her doctoral thesis on costume design and her master’s dissertation on costume use in Tanzanian film. She has published and presented work on costume as cultural identity, theatre as a tool for social education, and quality assurance in higher education. Current research projects explore costume and identity in contemporary Tanzanian film, community theatre as a tool for financial education, and curriculum reform in creative arts education.

Workshops & Training

She has facilitated and participated in workshops on curriculum design and review, quality assurance in higher education, examination standards, theatre in social and financial education, women in leadership, and theatre against racism. These engagements highlight her role as both a learner and a trainer committed to advancing knowledge and practice.

Dr. Mwajuma combines her expertise in Theatre Arts education with strong leadership in curriculum development and policy reform, having influenced national frameworks and vocational training programs. Her research skills in qualitative analysis and arts-based inquiry are complemented by her role in quality assurance for higher education, where she ensures academic excellence and compliance. Beyond academia, she applies Theatre for Development to engage communities in social and environmental education, demonstrating the arts as a powerful tool for transformation. She is also an experienced project leader and mentor, guiding students and colleagues while developing creative arts content that advances education, empowerment, and innovation.

Consultancy & National Contributions

Dr. Mwajuma has provided consultancy and leadership in several national and community-based initiatives. She served as Lead Consultant for the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) in developing the creative arts curriculum (2023–2024), and as Curriculum Development Leader for VETA in designing vocational training materials for performing arts (2023–2025). She applied Theatre for Development in the Misitu Kisiki Hai Project (2015–2016), mobilizing communities for sustainable environmental practices. Earlier, she evaluated theatre-based financial and social education programs for International Child Support (ICS) (2010–2011), and represented Tanzania in the Ministry of Education & Culture’s international theatre workshop in South Africa (2005).
