Has a worked experience of 14 years with Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) a subsidiary of Diageo PLC and Tanzania Cigarette Company Plc (TCC) a Member of the JTI in various position within Procurement department.

Evarist is a Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional (CPSP) and a holder of Masters of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (Msc. PSCM) offered by Mzumbe University Tanzania. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy (ADA) from The Institute of Finance Management (IFM) Tanzania.

Evarist was recruited as an Intern at Tanzania Cigarette Company Ltd rising to Supervisory level before moving to Serengeti Breweries Ltd as Procurement Controller rising to Market Procurement Category Manager.

  • Successfully oversaw the upgrade of the Primary section of the factory, from purchase of and importation of machines, Civil works and installation of the machines.
  • Supervising order placement of spare parts in line with the requirements from MRP by working in close coordination with Repair and Renewal (R&R) store to ensure zero machine downtime. This includes analyzing spare parts inventory to eliminate over-stocking by monitoring re-order level and quantities, to ensure all frequently urgent spare parts items are included in MRP, spares for planned maintenance are available on time as well as availability of engineering materials during special projects as per requirement.
  • To prepare tender announcements, coordinate sending, receiving and opening of tender documents, qualify and evaluate building contractors, and negotiate in close coordination with user departments.
  • Conduct vendor performance review and analyze service levels, taking necessary action whenever necessary.
  • Ensure value for money in line with best practice procurement
  • Reporting issues and successes within the team, among supplier base and internal customers
  • Overall we managed to bring down the stock level of spare parts, elimination of duplicate orders and write off of all outdated spares to ensure that the stores ledgers were update.
