Maintenance of The Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepared Inventory Plan, and Reports for Planned Preventive Maintenance and Service, Incidence, Breakdown Maintenance.
• Prepared and trained technician on how to carry out and fill Daily Checklists for Water Storage Tanks, Water Supply Pumps, Sewage Pumps, Wastewater System Cleaning (manhole and inspection chamber, sewage pipeline, wastewater strainer pit and sump pit) and Stormwater System Cleaning.
• Guided, Inspected and Supervised Plumbing team to carry out maintenance of Water Supply system (both cold water, hot water and chilled water), Stormwater system and Wastewater system (both Drainage and Sewage system), different plumbing fixtures, sanitary wares, leakage fixation, unblocking stormwater lines, drainage line and sewage and system.
• Guided, Inspected and Supervised Mechanical Technician Team in carrying out Planned Preventive Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance and servicing of Water Pumps (Water transfer & booster pumps, Submersible pumps for boreholes, circulation pumps for hot water system), Solar System, Calorifier and Boiler.
• Approved material required for the maintenance, service, rehabilitation and extension of water supply systems, sewage and drainage system, plumbing fittings and sanitary wares.
• Supervised and inspected carrying out of Pressure Test (Water Supply System) for Fire Hydrants, Landing Valves, Fire Hose Reel and Fire Sprinkler with assistance of Fire Fighting Technician
• Planned, Designed and Supervised new installation and expansion of water supply, drainage and sanitation system such as plumbing Fittings and sanitary wares.
• Assisted in interpretation of water distribution network drawings for both hot water, chilled water, cold water, stormwater networks, wastewater networks firefighting water supply system for both hose reel, fire hydrant, landing valve and fire sprinklers during Planned Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance.
• Carried training and supervision for operation Reverse Osmosis System (RO) for borehole water, Water Filtration Plant for DAWASA water, CIP process, taking daily reading to monitor the quality of water produced and dosing procedures. Also supervised all water treatment plant repair, services and maintenance such as replacement of cartridge filters, RO membrane, MGF & ACF media replacement.
• Prepared and conducted training on the proper use and procedures of handling of machines such PPR Welding Machine, and HDPE Welding Machines, Clamp meter, Water Pump Instillation and basic mechanical knowledge based on pump maintenance and operation.
• Carried out inspection and survey of critical leakage caused by unknown water supply and drainage system and those caused by construction faulty such roof sheet and tiles, and top slabs/ Pent and came up with proper efficient solution for fixation.
• Attended, Inspected and supervised daily received complaints (by job cards/tickets or landline/mobile) from users concern any water type problems and incidence such water system breakdown, critical leakages, drainage blockage and sewage chambers overflow and pump failure.

Name of Assignment/Project.

Construction of Quandred village Water Supply Scheme, which involves Elevated Storage Tank 0f 50m3, 5(DPs) Domestic Points, 3Catle Trough, 3.2km Raising Main, 21km Distribution Main Pipeline, 1Pump house

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Assisting Site Engineer in making regular inspections of a large range of technical aspects of the works all the time at site by becoming familiar with all relevant working drawings and written instructions and informing local artisan of works not conforming to contract document.
• Filling daily report forms maintain and issue weekly and monthly progress reports and attending site meetings and preparation of minutes
• Assisting Site Engineer in making visual inspection of works and at several occasions taking measurements such as size of structural elements, spacing of reinforcement bars and samples of materials in order to make sure that the work and materials meet the specified specifications ad quality standards.
• Assisting Site Engineer in making follow up of work progress and ensure that they are maintained as per construction working programme. In doing so I had my separate tracking programme which shows actual execution against contractor’s agreed programme of works.
• Assisting Site Engineer in witnessing all tests conducted at/ outside site such as concrete cube test, reinforcement tensile strength test, and pressure testing for water supply pipes
