Daudi Makombe - Junior Social Scientist/Researcher/Medical Anthropologist/ Urban Ecology Enthusiast Makombe: is a Tanzanian-passionate anthropologist and dedicated Junior Researcher with little experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, specializing in the intersection of anthropology, urban ecology, and social interactions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Anthropology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. With his skills like strong skills in community-based research, qualitative data collection, and participatory engagement,proficient in analyzing social, cultural, and environmental determinants of health and translating findings into policy- and program-relevant insights he is passionate about applying his knowledge as a medical anthropologist and social scientist to contribute to community development by centering people’s lived realities and local knowledge in development interventions. He aspires to work in collaboration with government institutions and local and international NGOs to identify community needs, address social and health inequalities, and improve the cultural relevance, inclusiveness, and sustainability of health and urban programs, ultimately promoting the well-being of his society.

During my field as intern at the National Village Museum of Tanzania I was subjected to document and preserve traditional medical knowledge, healing practices, and health-related artifacts.
I also supported some exhibition research, interpret cultural and health connections for visitors, and assist in community engagement and outreach programs, promoting awareness of indigenous knowledge and its relevance to contemporary health and development.
